Nuclear Power Pros and Cons

Pros:
The pros of useing nuclear power are, one it doesn't depend on fossil fuels what this means is that if the word ran out of fossil fuels then nuclear power plants and anything that used nuclear power wouldn't be affected. Two nuclear power plants don"t emit as much CO2 into the atmosphere which is better for the atmoshpere.
Finnally nuclear fission produces roughly a million times more energy than coal or other fossil fuels which again is better for the world and atmosphere.

Cons:
Some of the cons of useing and haveing nuclear power are one, mining and useing uranium is not a very clean prosses. Two when you produce energy at a nuclear plant you have to use uranium and when you are done  useing it, it becomes very radio active and deadly. Finnally that radio active matirial has to be taken care of......and that cost money. It has to be taken care of because once it becomes radio active and the plant is done useing it because if they were to dump it in to any old pond or vally it would toxicate and destroy many things.

Conclusion;
In conclusion in my opinion i think that even tho nuclear power is a risky thing to deal with it would be worth it if the United States started useing it because of the fact that we wouldn"t have to depend on foreign countries and their games in which we have to buy fuel from them. So again in my opinion i think their are more pros than cons and it is worth it to start depending on nuclear power.

Smoking? Cancer? Death?

A good thing that the charts show is not only a decrease in smoking but also that as time goes on humans learn from their mistakes. Another good thing that this graph shows is that the percentage of people that smoke is going down although the mortality rate is going up. One thing i learned from this graph is that on average it takes about 40 years for lung cancer to take effect and kill someone from the time they start smoking.

Smoking Kills

If you asked me personally what i thought of the the smoking issue at the collage hospital i would say that the collage has every right to deny someone a job in their hospital due to the fact that they smoke.
I would say this because for hevans sake its a hospital and most patients that are at the hospital would have negative reactions both physically and mentally if one of their caretakers or doctors smoked.

$10 a Gallon

Life would be different if gas were 10 dollars a gallon for sure because of how much we use it. Not only would it affect big things like cars, plains, and pretty much every other way to get somewhere but it would also affect things like how much food at the grocery store cost and where people live because if gas was that exspensive then most people would not be able to afford the comute to work. If you look at the big picture the Big Horn Basin and most of the United States would be screwed because we import so much that has big affects on our daily livs. Even tho almost everything is negative about gas going to $10 a gallon i think one good thing that would come out of it would be innovation and many discovories.

Mars Sceince

Over the past couple of years the colonization of Mars has been a huge topic o discussion. In my personal opinion i think it would all depend on the time frame. For example if we were to do it right now i would have to say no because for one our country is in debt trillions of dollars. Another reason right now would be a bad time to do it is because we are running low on fossil fuels and if we were to take a trip to Mars the price of gas would sky rocket. In conclusion i think it would be a bad overall decision to try and colonize Mars.

Fact: It would take aproximitly 6 months to get to Mars.
